Director Statement

As a filmmaker and a filmgoer, dark/intense films, like thriller, suspense & horror, have always fascinated me. I love character driven films and working with actors. I wanted to convey through my film that how once self can go that far or pushed to the edge to behave in certain way, besides that The Workout is simply a fun project rooted in Horror/Thriller genre.

The main reason behind creating “The Workout” was that people I have been interacting on day-to-day basis life are keep getting very self-observant. Those people are filled with ego, arrogance, their unwillingness to let minor things go, obsession over things and they don’t seem to worry about humanity at all.

As a director I strongly believe a good movie is made great by strong performance by actors, thus elevating the film. No matter how many fancy special effects you use throughout the movie, if the performance is not powerful the audience will not care about them and the movie will not be able stay in their hearts.

It’s always satisfying to achieve emotional reactions from audience through intense scenes and keep surprising at every corner.
