Director Statement

After spending several years dreaming about making a film of my own, I have done it. I have gladly participated in other films to help my friends and to gain experience. Those relationships came back to be a blessing on this film. When met with a deadline for moving out of the country, numerous friends came together and helped me set up 4 sets simultaneously and have each set ready to roll back to back. This film was shot in about a day and a half, thanks to the efforts of many friends.

When thinking about what to make a film about, I already had several stories in my head I wanted to shoot. I knew I wanted to do something that was inspirational and uplifting and my desire was to make a film that told the story of prayer without being too "cheesy."

I also wanted to try out some new special effects techniques and some practical effects I had been working on. The soldier scene was probably the most enjoyable scene to put together and work on.

I hope that this short film isn't too cheesy for you. As with any production, there are a lot of things you wish you had shot different. This film has been a tremendous learning experience for me and hopefully the start of many more to come.
