Adam Gunton is a writer and filmmaker and is a graduate of Falmouth University with a BA (Hons) Batchelor’s Degree in Film. Nearly seven years ago he helped establish Cheesemint Productions and with them he’s made two seasons of a web-series as well as several short films and sketches. Adam’s main passion is in writing and directing. He’s recently finished making The Reunion, a very personal film about the different paths we take in life. Adam’s path will involve more projects with Cheesemint and a career in writing and production with plans to write and direct a more intimate short film in the near future.
The Reunion came about because the future can be a frightening thing.
I’m 28 and all my friends are getting married, having babies, buying houses, embarking off on exciting careers and I've just gradutated university with less than part of a plan.
But it’s easy to forgot there is no right path, no right destination and sometimes, we’re all struggling. And if we’re all struggling then that means we’re not alone.
I like to think that just about everyone will be able to relate to Holly in some way as she experiences her school reunion and catches up with her friends that are people that I feel we’ve all encountered at some point.
The Reunion is a short and ambitious film with a large cast and a variety of locations. Filmed over five days, it was achieved through the hard work of a dedicated and talented crew.
Working through my own issues with this film has been a cathartic experience and I hope everyone gets something out of it when they watch it.
Should make an interesting conversation starter for my own school reunion.
