Stephen Dean is native to Atlanta, Georgia. Just over five years ago when a multitude of film productions began trickling into the state Stephen developed a strong personal interest towards the film industry. He began working in various capacities within the profession beginning with background work and stand-in gigs to acting and eventually starting his own production company, Dean Film Works LLC. Stephen loves all things on two wheels whether it be cycling or motorcycling. Stephen was a law enforcement officer for five years during his early to mid twenties. Now days he enjoys acting, filmmaking, editing, and creating original film projects. He is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University and holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in marketing and also has an associate's degree in criminal justice. Mr. Dean loves nostalgic film projects/period pieces whether it be the 1930's such as Memoirs of a Godfather or more modern film works. He is a true fan of all things cinema and looks forward to working on many future productions and projects.
The film series Memoirs of a Godfather was developed into a three episode pilot web series. The purpose of the series is to create a nostalgic film work with various classic television and film influences. The project is contained in terms of mature themes and relies on often times simple situational humor to progress it's own style of comedy. While Memoirs of a Godfather shouldn't be necessarily considered a family series the project consist of limited language and violence and relies on old fashioned character development and story telling to create the backdrop of the story. My influences in creating this project were naturally taking the Godfather/mafia theme and portraying it in a different light based upon comedy, outlandish goofiness, and just simply humor. My influences for this project's cinematography included various 1940's film noir films. The story, characters, and final editing of the series borrowed influences from shows such as "I Dream of Jeannie", "The Andy Griffith Show" and "The Three Stooges". Memoirs of a Godfather was never created to reinvent the wheel, it is a project to try and present a different variant from the violent organized crime genre of films and shows and at the same approach a modern project with old fashioned reserve, class, and simplicity and not the "shock and awe" of sex, excessive violence, and language many film projects currently being offered in today's market(s).
