The Ngari Project.

Made during a stay at the Ngari Institute of Buddhist Dialectics in Leh, Ladakh. I was invited to the institute by the President, Geshe Tsewang Dorje after meeting him in Germany in 2013 while at a meditation retreat. As a thank you for his invite we made a small video for Geshe about his project. It is our hope that this will help to raise further awareness and support for the Ngari Institute and the work they do there. This was my first attempt at a documentary, I had little experience but lots of heart.

Director Biography - Leanne Rivers, Elisabeth Rosenthal

Leanne Rivers is an actor and writer from the UK, now living in Berlin. Leanne trained as an actor as The Bridge Theatre Training Company in London. Leanne is also a new screenwriter and has recently submitted her first co-written feature screenplay into a screenwriting fellowship competition.

Director Statement

I met Geshe Tsewang Dorje, the director of the Ngari Project, in 2013 in Germany. He invited myself and artist, Elisabeth Rosenthal to Leh to make a small video project to promote the work they do with children and the community at The Ngari Institute. We had very little money, so we could not take a camera crew, or a sound crew, so we worked with the basic equipment and technical skill we had. It was an eye opening and joyful experience and I was very grateful to have my first shot at creating a documentary film under such special circumstances.
