Filip Sterckx (1985, Leuven, http://www.filipsterckx.be) is a director and visual artist. He got his master degree in animation film in 2007 at Sint Lukas Brussels. His graduation short film "Stroom", a combination of live action and animation, with music and text by Sörry was selected at several prestigious filmfestivals in Europe.
Since 2006 he started to create several art installations, in which he projected a combination of video and animation on sculptures.
Together with Antoon Verbeeck he created Skullmapping (skullmapping.com), an artistic collective that deals with art in a technology-related way, ranging from large scale projections to VR experiences.
He directed several music videos and commercials, for bands like Bodyspasm, Steak Number Eight and Willow. His music video for Willow's 'Sweater' won the MIA for best video, Bronze at the Taipei Digital Content Awards, Audience Award at Clip that Beat, Prix de L'intermede at Protoclip Paris, was screened at SXSW and added to the playlist of the Latin American HBO division. The 'Sweater' video counted more than one million views online.
He has also created (live)visuals for different dance and theatre pieces.
