I am graduated as an actor in 2009, and then I made my master degree course on Physical Theatre directing and choreography. Last year of the university I realised that I need to record my pieces on stage to sell them. Make them a trailer to find the audience, make a promotional video to apply for founds, and also need to be documented them for later rehearsals. Then I’ve bought myself a camera. And then all the friends and ideas just came with that device! I’ve started shooting films two years ago for the 48hourFilmProject, with Runnovich. Since then I made a dance-short, the BEHIND ME and next year the CSUHAJA, an ironic folk-Sci-Fi about the hungarian nationalistic policy.
My recent film, the T(r)opic of Cancer is a fantasy about the fight with our secret enemies.
My keyword for filmmaking is contrast.
What I found important in my movies: the impulse of the movements, the momentum, the details of a body, an object or any landscape. And on the other hand, the humour which unmissable. This keeps the balance and it makes the hard parts more intense if you feel the distance between that two poles.
And also what I like in theatre: the unrepeatable moment of intimacy. The here-and-now feeling which pulls you in like the vacuum and doesn’t let you out! The truth is the most important element for me instead of the already decided plans. I like documentaries and amateur actors.
