Aley Davis is a senior in the broadcast journalism program at BYU. She thrives on meeting new people, discovering their passions, and capturing it through video. Between her California roots and her church mission in San Antonio, Texas, she suffers from big state loyalty issues. She currently works at Wallaroo Media, a digital marketing agency and is the founder of an online women's magazine called Up and Up Magazine.
Filming and producing "Dancing Without You" was hands down one of the most emotional and rewarding experiences of my life. As I spent hours interviewing people about Emily, spent late nights logging interviews and pouring through pictures and video of Em, I feel like I came to know her even though we never met. I came to know of her goodness and strength through the testimonies of others. This documentary is a call to action to all around to end the stigma surrounding maternal mental health. It is a plea to healthcare professionals, government officials, friends, and family to wake up and recognize the real and devastating effects of postpartum depression. It is our responsibility and privilege to act now!
