Director Statement

I wrote and produced 'Surveillance' in under 6 months. We shot it in my hometown of Brisbane, Australia. My goal was to achieve a high budget, feature feel in a short.

It was important to try to create a believable world in which the motivations of the characters were something that the audience could relate to. That's why the antagonist, Marius is so passionate. He feels betrayed by Mike. That's the emotion that drives his actions in the film.

We strove to create action scenes that were clear and easy to follow by minimising the use of extreme close ups and hand held camera. This allows the actors to showcase their skills and (hopefully) enhances the viewing experience for the audience.

I feel that the end result was worth it. I really hope you enjoy 'Surveillance'.
