Graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 1998 with an "oh, so useful" degree in film. He made his feature film debut with "Ungirlfriendable" in 2006. The film was an official selection of the Asheville Rejects Film Festival in 2007 and won zero awards. He followed up that massive success with a co-directing effort "Outtake Reel," co-directed with Scott Feinblatt, who also wrote the script. While attempting to write his next great project, he spent some weekends working on "backyard films" with his best friend and family. The end result was three films revolving around the bumbling country trio Kleedus, Kabe and Bigfoot himself. The first in the trilogy, "Assault of the Evil Meteor" won Best Trailer at the Texandance Film Festival in 2009. Jeffry's production company, Backyard Films Presents, lends itself to the idea that films can be made in the backyard with minimal budget and minimal acting skills. The films are just like the ones he made back in junior high that he had so much fun making, only this time around he makes the films look professional as possible while maintaining a firm tongue in cheek.
I set out to make films that have an underlying layer of comedy, no matter which genre I'm attempting to tackle. I'm not into making heavy-handed dramas or serious takes on existentialism. I want to make the films I loved seeing as a kid, movies that took me to a different world and instilled in me the desire to one day make similar films to inspire a new generation of young people.
