Honorably Released
"Because I was an Early Returned Missionary, I felt ashamed and guilty and I felt like I had failed my parents more than anything." Rachel Morrow is just one of thousands of missionaries who have returned home from their missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before her assignment was complete. Even though these missionaries are given honorable releases, affirming that their service is exemplary, many of them feel devastation and failure from finishing in a way that they had not planned. Missionaries return early for a myriad of reasons including physical and mental health issues and upon their return, they face difficulties that none of them could even imagine. This documentary discusses the experiences of several missionaries affected by issues beyond their basic control and how they figured out how to cope with the struggles they ran into.
