Ode to the Unsung Heroes

This documentary deeply reflects the historical background of former Korean miners and nurses who were dispatched to Germany in the 1960s and 1970s in an effort to revitalize the nation’s devastated economy after the Korean War. The compilation of interviews with these heroes’ explore the feelings, thoughts, and drive that had incited them to sacrifice their youth to work in a foreign land. The goal of this film is to have the audience to get a glimpse of what these individuals experienced, and hopefully get a sense of appreciation for the sacrifices that were made to have the Korean society we have today. The ultimate purpose of the film is to give recognition to this historical event that instigated the development of the Korean economy and allowed the nation to now be recognized as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world.
