Writer Statement

Writing is a cry for help. We do it because we are compelled to share our experiences with others, and we know we have to lie to make it true for others. We have to tell the truth, not the facts, and to do so, we must fabricate and synthesize experience with imagery and metaphor.

We have to strip the facts to make room for feeling.
