The Anniversary - Run, Hide, Die

A year after Addison Davenport’s husband was found murdered in their home, the emotional wounds are still raw and gaping. On this devastating anniversary, Addison’s in-laws generously offer her their summer cabin as a healing retreat. With her four best friends in tow, Addie sets off for this idyllic spot, deep in the woods, to find some peace and possibly even some fun. But it soon becomes clear that the girls are not alone, as each is savagely captured and terrorized. One of them is hiding a dark secret, for which their tormentor plans to exact a brutal revenge. Before the night is over, what began as a carefree road trip will descend into a shocking bloodbath of malice and butchery.

Director Statement

With this story came to pass a moment in my career where I would jump from directing short films to features. It was a very easy choice based on the script alone. I can say honestly say, between learning from failures & successes, delivering on promises, succeeding and losing all throughout the process of making one film together with my cast and crew, this film was life changing. You see I do not make horror films, or any particular genre, but try to create the best possible film and let the audience interpret in the way they wish. The Anniversary was no exception. The process was exciting, exhausting and exhilarating on every level, everyday of filming. The production team became like family. We lived through the horror, suspense, laughter and stress together. Without a great team like the one I had on set this film would not have been possible. I implore you to pay attention to the beautifully crafted dialogue, authentic 80’s music, costuming, vehicles, props, direction, acting, all of the above to get the most from this great film as I do every time I watch it.
