Hannah is an Independent Australian film maker, based in Melbourne, Victoria. 'Fish' is her 3rd short film as a Writer/ Director/ Producer.
Conceived, shot and edited to completion in a 3 week period, 'Fish' was shot entirely on super 16mm film.
It tells the story of a lonely, eccentric shut-in who buys a pet gold fish in a childish attempt to bring some sort of fulfilment into his life. However, shortly after adopting the fish, it appears depressed and lifeless. The protagonist attempts to cheer up the fish by filling it's bowl with toys. yet this only proves to smother the fish and reduce its quality of life. it is at this point that the protagonist realises that he has inflicted his own worst qualities on his new friend.
The film ends with both characters being liberated from their respective confined spaces.
