Hidden Pearls
Hidden Pearls is a documentary that explores the socio-economic state of Haiti through a personal lens. Vanessa Bateau's interest in Haiti is sparked in America from all the beautiful stories that are told from Haitian immigrants. She travels to Jacmel and Port au Prince to capture the side of Haiti that the mainstream media seems to be lacking. She makes stops at Filmmaker Mario Delatour's home and the Ciné Institute (Haiti's only film production school) for interviews to learn about the country's history and hopeful future.
