For 25 years, Hop Litzwire has straddled a line between his work and passion as a songwriter/musician and a career in the Television and Film Industry. Even when his band BOBGOBLIN was signed to a major label in the late 90's and early 2000s, Litzwire found time to lend his collegiately-formed production skills to music videos and nationally televised programs, directing and producing complete programs and features for ESPN, Fox Sports, and PBS. Though BOBGOBLIN is now fully independent, Litzwire and his band mates still perform, record new music, and make videos extensively, while Litzwire continues his successful career in Television and Film Production as a four-time Emmy-winning producer, director, videographer, and composer, as well as a songwriter who is often called upon to write music for others. No matter how limited the band's success, the music and visual productions of BOBGOBLIN have always been a primary passion for Litzwire, and the band's work has always been a convenient proving ground for Litzwire's own development as visual artist.
It's taken me quite a long time - mainly because of my work in music - to accumulate the kinds of visual pieces that I'm especially proud of, and of course I'm hungry for more, but the music video for "Danger," though not wildly difficult to achieve, is one of my proudest moments as a visual creator. The collaboration with the animator to come up with something that tells a powerful story, gives proper time to the intense performance of the band, and keeps a specific and cohesive visual style in place, made for a particularly satisfying project, one that will always hold a special place for me.
