The Countertenor
In 1800’s Mexico, peasant Emilio tempts fate to try and win his true love in a national singing competition, The Grand Festival of Voices. He enlists local priest Padre, rebellious sister Maria, dim-witted Jesus, and feisty horse Diablo, who help him discover he has a beautiful voice and a chance at stardom!
There’s just one problem…
… he sings like a woman.
Emilio must find the strength to overcome the evil Monsignor, the powerful Baron, lusty townsmen, and a lack of size 9 heels if he is to fulfill his destiny!
Along the way he’ll discover that what matters most has been before him all along.
Before… The Voice, before… American Idol, there was… The Countertenor!
