Director Biography - Jon Osbeck

An award-winning actor, filmmaker and producer, Jon has just completed writing his next feature length screenplay for production, Springfield.

Jon wrote, produced and co-directed the feature film Minus One (WINNER Best Narrative Feature - GI Film Festival; WINNER Best Feature Film - Whitewater Film Festival, WINNER Best Feature Film - Colony Film Festival). His short film Mann In Hock (Best Director - Independent Film Channel MediaLab Competition) premiered on the Independent Film Channel. He also recently partnered with FineLight Films (UK) and JOJO Films (US) to direct the resurgence of his original character in Mann Vs Fish, now in post-production. His most recent short film he directed previous was On Watch, a dramatic short film about a recently returned Army veteran's battle with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

On screen and stage...
Jon can be seen acting in Dark Waters alongside Mark Ruffalo, as the brother of Anne Hathaway’s character, under the direction of Todd Haynes. Jon can also be seen in The Public, a feature film written, directed by and starring Emilio Estevez, sharing scenes with Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater and Jeffrey Wright, the Paramount Pictures feature Goat as the college provost, and A Kind Of Murder (Jon Caar), a feature thriller starring Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel from Sierra Pictures and Killer Films now available on Netflix. Jon was also seen in the Hallmark Channel’s movie The Christmas Spirit (Jerry Hart). Jon received Best Actor (Underneath Cincinnati) for his performance in the award-winning independent short film Eroded. Other credits include The Street Where We Live, Seven Songs About Thunder, Accidents At Home And How They Happen, Mrs. Stevens Hears The Mermaids Singing and Minus One. On stage, Jon recently appeared in the regional premiere of Holmes and Watson (Watson) with CATCO, Looped (Danny Miller) at Evolution Theatre, CATCO's productions of Bengal Tiger At The Baghdad Zoo (Musa) and Next Fall (Adam) and Gallery Players World Premiere of Elijah's Angel (Dad). Jon received back to back honors from The Alive! for Best Male Theater Performance for his many roles in Stones In His Pockets (Charlie, Simon, Caroline, Fin, Mr. Harkin, Clem, Jock), and his ‘downright chilling’ performance in Frozen as Ralph Ian Wantage.
