Director Biography - Tony Lawrence

Sydney based filmmaker Tony Lawrence creates some of Australia’s most beautiful experimental films. From his vast film archive of 8mm, 16mm and 9.5mm home movies and stock footage he creates new works. Also creating new films utilising Super 8. Tony is completely self taught in film. Learning his craft in part by repairing old cameras and projectors. Teaching himself film and sound editing and creating devices for experimental film transfer techniques. As a musician he is able to create unique soundtracks for all his films using antique synthesisers and piano.
