Catharsis, Ascension and Hell Raving

Marcello is a man used to having everything he could possibly want but he's drowning in a boring life. To get some thrills, Marcello decides he wants to meet an american model, Martina Adams, who he's seen in a magazine, even if she's recently passed away. Out in the street, following a previously decided strategy, he goes through some strange adventures and completes a process of purification. That gives him access - by an elevator - to a upper level, where he meets the girl of his dreams. Not everything goes as he planned, though...

Director Biography - Andrea Sardu

Born in 1972, son of a documentary-film indipendent producer/director, my family has always encoraged me to love and discorver art - cinema, music, painting - since my early days. When I was a teenager I started writing and from those days on I've never stopped, writing a feature film and five short film screenplays, a narrative book and other unfinished ideas. I was 23 when I sided my dad in his agency and started working for many years a daily, full time job as video editor, motion designer, cameraman and sound designer, mainly for documentaries about Sardinia, but also commercials, corporate videos, institutional videos, works for tv networks. In 2000, I decided to travel and flew to London where I enrolled in Graphic design at the University of East London and graduated in 2003. Back in Sardinia I enstablished a comunication agency that deals with design for the food industry. During more then 15 years I've worked as a video and graphic designer but always thought that one day I would have started shooting the things I had written. So I did. In 2016 I decided to indipendently kick-start one of the scripts I had written, 'Catharsis Ascension and Hell Raving'. After six years, the film is ready, so I have thought: that's the right time to register to FilmFreeway!

'Catharsis, Ascension & Hell Raving' is a surprising film, biting and funny; a satire of modern society that leaves room for different interpretations. Marcello, a modern-day man, is willing to do anything to meet Martina Adams, an American model he's seen in a magazine, although the girl has recently passed away! In order to reach her, our hero faces two trials through which he gains access to a 'higher plane'. Not everything goes as planned, though…

'Catharsis, Ascension & Hell Raving' is a work with a universal message that can be interpreted in many ways, suitable for young and old lovers of niche films, sub-cultures, cult movies, non-obvious and not standardized films. .

Written and directed by Andrea Sardu, filmed in Digital 4K with a light film crew (20-25 people), lasting about 45 minutes, 'Catharsis, Ascension and Hell Raving' was born free, self-produced (thanks also to a crowdfunding), shot with a lot of passion and a great desire to make a unique product. The main caracther is Maurizio Pulina (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3102178/), Marcello in the film. The photography is curated by Antonio Cauterucci (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5646221/).
