Honorable Mention
Born in 24th of April 1998 in Cartaxo, Portugal. During his final year in the course of Visual Arts of High school, Felício started working alongside some classmates in experimental 4 to 5 minutes short movies. They usually take place in just one space and are followed by an off screen narrative or line of thought.
This is the case of "Monocroma" and "O Outro Rapaz" (The Other Boy).
In 2016 he entered the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha where he is currently taking a Sound and Image bachelor's degree
On the 26th of November Felício received an honorable mention for "Monocroma" in the "8/5" Film Festival in Porto.
With "Monocroma" I used techniques learned from Dogme 95 aesthetics and a toned down German Expressionist wave.
Silence is as vital as the narration in the short (self narrated).
While creating the concept for "Monocroma" I wanted to tell as little as possible. The character isn't an individual, it's an element of a situation. The situation itself isn't clear, so the viewer has as much power of what the situation on screen is as the director
Black and White was used in resemblance of "A Torinói Ló"(2011) by Béla Tarr
