r.i.p. anchor (i love u anker)
The Deptford anchor has gone , it has been taken from us. There is some regeneration been done along Deptford high st which will replace the anchor with a new street, removing the meeting area . A method of moving the anti-social behaviour or drinkers that had made the anchor their home, out of sight out of mind a classic stance councils and governments use to cleanse our streets . Here is a selection of photos of the anchor from where I live, from the last 7 years with a soundtrack recorded along the high st of locals. As the anchor crew wrote one christmas with stickers ' i love u anker' so i say, i love u anker.
