Bharath Balemane is a IT Business Analyst at a software firm by profession, filmmaker by passion. Famous Tele-serial “Malgudi Days” directed by ace Kannada director Shankar Nag has inspired him in his childhood which led him to take up filmmaking.
He has ventured into film making as a student with a documentary on his engineering college, which grabbed attention and applause. Childhood dream and passion for filmmaking led him to form a group by2coffeefilms (www.by2coffeefilms.com) in 2010; a place for likeminded people to cherish their dream in short film making. Since then he has involved himself in filmmaking seriously.
He has fostered an immense passion for direction, Screen writing, cinematography and Editing. He has directed more than 15 short films so far. He believes that film making is an art form which needs much dedication and commitment to learn as any other art forms. He spends much of my leisure time in watching films belonging to various genres and from all over the world, reviewing and critical analysis and reading. Few of his films bagged him awards at national level film festivals. His recent short film “Aasare” has bagged National award under “Most Popular Choice” category at Yes Foundation – 101 hour filmmaking challenge
A NGO, “My Dream” (http://www.by2coffeefilms.com/my-dream) a subsidiary wing of by2coffeefilms started by his team in 2010, works towards educating underprivileged students through thought provoking short films. Project has reached more than 2000 students across Karnataka, India and bagged recognition with the way project is designed and with its reach.
He is from Siddapur, a quiet town in North Canara District, Karnataka, India. He holds BE (Electronics & Communication) and MS (Software Engineering) degrees. He is presently working as a Senior Consultant for a reputed IT company in Bangalore. He is married to Shwetha Rao
Filmmaking is such a fine art form which combines every other arts. I lose myself in films and film-making
