Christian Dines was born and raised in East London. His mother a poet and teacher, his father an artist and teacher and his sister a west end stage actress in her youth, Christian was naturally immersed in the arts.
His career as a director began aged 23 when he began studying acting. Having briefly attended the prestigious 'Drama Centre London', he spent the following 4 years, acting in various fringe theatre productions, including Chekhov's 'The Seagull', 'Temptation' by Vaclav Havel and W. Somerset Maugham's 'Up At The Villa'. In between productions, he took roles in student and low budget films.
In 1999 having developed some of the short stories he wrote in his youth - Christian wrote, produced, directed and acted in his first short film, 'Perceptions'.
In the wake of 'Perceptions' success, Christian shot over 70 hours of footage using various scripts and different actors - learned Final Cut Pro and subsequently, spent the following 8 years, studying the editing process - while taking the occasional acting job.
Throughout 2007, Christian shot, edited and directed corporate videos and the following year, began to study photography with award winning photographer Ewa Bialek.
3 years later, Christian began work at IBF (Independent Broadcasting Facilities) as a quality control operator. While there, he also edited DVD menu montages and encoded and restored films for the DVD/BD home entertainment market. On the weekends, he continued directing short films.
In 2011, Christian began work at SDC (Soho Digital Cinema). After a year working as a quality control operator and projectionist, Christian freelanced in various capacities, shooting corporate videos and editing interviews for film3sixty magazine. That same year saw his acclaimed short film 'Forget To Remember' shortlisted for the audience award at the Newport International Film Festival.
In 2012, 6 months after his short film 'Hands To The Wheel' was shortlisted at the London Sci-Fi Competition, he began work on his first full length feature film, 'YELLOW JACKET' - a production that would take nearly 4 years to complete.
In 2013 he began work as a quality control operator and projectionist at AAM (Arts Alliance Media) and MPS (Motion Picture Solutions). He also worked that same year, at the 'The Actors Centre' in London's Covent Garden, working with actors and helping them develop their skill set. 2013 also saw his short film 'Blue Channel' become runners-up, at the London Sci-Fi Competition.
Over the following year, Christian continued work on 'YELLOW JACKET', while conducting his own acting classes privately. As 2015 drew to a close and 'YELLOW JACKET' was completed, Christian was hired to edit material for the Martin Scorsese produced film 'Tomorrow'.
Christian continues to work on a variety of productions in various capacities and has several of his own feature film productions in development.
YELLOW JACKET is attempting to ask the question; If we take another life, if we kill another human being and we do indeed lose something of ourselves as a result - our humanity or our soul... Is this part of ourselves lost forever, or can it still be retrieved? I do not of course have the answers, I merely wished to pose the question.
