Faqeer
This film explores the term ' Faqir' in relation to its contemporary manifestation. The film focuses on a Faqir Inayat Shah Junejo of Bhit Shah and documents his understanding of the term. It raises important questions regarding the absence/presence of women in the tradition of faqiri, and 'Vaee' (musical composition) brings to light a new questioning of the existing traditions.

Aliya and Tazeen are both faculty members at Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture and like to experiment with digital film. Aliya is a ceramic sculptor and Tazeen is a communication design professional.
We believe stories are waiting for you if you have the time to seek them out. Faqeer did not start out as a planned endeavour, it happened to us. For us it is a significant project, not for what it contains, but for the questions it raises for us to pursue in our future endeavours. It the beginning of a search.
