Better Days

In 2017, construction will begin for the HS2 train line between London and Birmingham, devastating natural woodlands and tearing through communities. Some of the people affected are losing their businesses, and their homes, due to a lack of compensation. This is their story.

Director Biography - Joseph Driscoll

Joseph Driscoll is currently in his final term of a BSc in Film and Television Production at the University of York, United Kingdom. From Birmingham, his debut work 'Better Days' is a short documentary which tells the story of those affected by the HS2 train line being built between London and Birmingham.

Better Days was accepted onto two categories at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival and received a Royal Television Society nomination for Best Non-fiction. It has also been accepted into twelve film festivals picking up four awards.
