Parallel Lives (reviews)

Marco lives a dual life. When he's awake, he is a wealthy software seller; when he's asleep, he is a unemployed and penniless boy. He goes to a parapsychologist, Doctor Pistis, to try and solve his situation, to finally put an end to this "parallel life". The question is: which one is the real life and which one is the dream?

Director Statement

In this film there are two fake format and a real one:
- 16:9 with black bars (to simulate the anamorphic film look)
- scaled down 16:9 (in opposition to the '' anamorphic '')
- "full" 16:9 (original size) in the final scene

This film is made whit a budget of 1150 euros and using non-professional actors

Themes:
The penniless Marco scenes were made in order to remember the shots and the quality of a cctv so as to suggest the idea of ''stolen'' images from the daily life of a normal person.
The scenes of the wealthy Marco instead were filmed in cinematic way .
So the Marco poor life, that the other Marco considers a dream, is more real than the world he considers true. And the world of the wealthy Marco is nothing but the metaphor of the cool and comfortable world propagate from film and TV.
Depriving a man of these means of illusion it often means remove the only consolation to live.
It is no coincidence that the structure that regulates the two universes is derived in part to a CRT.

Other themes:
- The inability of many to share their wealth and their constant fear of losing it and become poor.
-The condition of many young unemployed people who have not even the hope of a better future.
