Waitress versus Vegetarian
"A triumph of stupidity over spirituality."
A vegetarian goes to a restaurant and asks what they have without meat. To which the waitress replies, "What type of meat would you like?" Thus begins a battle between patience and incompetence. Incompetence wins, of course, but the fun is in watching the poor patron try to contain his anger, and in seeing just how many ways the waitress can find to screw things up. A very astute viewer-or perhaps someone watching for the second time-will note that the man must already be having some problems before he arrives, since the book he is reading is titled "Manual de Autocontrol de Enojo" or "Manual for Self-Control of Anger." (Filmed in Tijuana, Mexico, with local actors.)

Jonny Lewis started acting at age 45 by accident. Since then he has appeared in 150 student and indie films, as well as corporate videos. He has written and directed 17 short films, including 3 in Spanish.
Though Chris Straffon (he's Mexican, with an Englishman way back in his heritage) is a trained actor, but Fatima Jimenez had never acted before joining our acting workshop in Tijuana. (Now she acts in plays and sings opera.) I didn't have the money to submit to festivals until now, but I laughed all over again when I was working on the English subtitles, and I hope you will give this film a chance.
