“Thanatophobia" follows seventy eight-year-old Ernie Cranshaw, a man with a haunting past, living alone in Lexington, Kentucky. The nightmares from his horrible childhood under an abusive father are growing in intensity each night, and every morning he gazes at a brochure featuring a pristine retirement community and refuses to take the next step in his life. After visiting his favorite 50s diner for breakfast, a stranger approaches, offering him free tickets to a week of movies at an old favorite, classic theater, before the place closes down for good. At the theater, Ernie settles in for quaint night at the movies. Little does he know, what lies inside may just send him to the brink of madness.
