Test Shooting

This video continues my explorations of an absurdity of stereotypes about female sexuality and attractiveness and women’s objectification, which I started in my work ‘I Am Usual Woman’. I use the instructions of how you should photograph yourself for ‘the best match’, which I found on matrimonial ‘Russian brides’, as they called, websites. Visiting many of those websites, I found variety of these suggestions for female users, but I have never came across the similar ones for men. I decided to do a test shooting by asking a male unprofessional model to follow those instructions in front of the camera as if he would be a woman. This video is the result of this test done with no a prior rehearsal.
