Director Biography - Victoria Rose

Victoria Rose is a Los Angeles based, award-winning screenwriter and an emerging presence in the industry. She attended the University of Southern California where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production with an emphasis in Writing.

Victoria started writing when she received a “Create-Your-Own-Diary” in the second grade. She hasn’t put the pen down since. She continued her writing pursuits at the University of Southern California where she graduated magna cum laude with a Major in Critical Studies in Cinema with Honors and a Minor in Theatre. Although no one could believe it, she very much enjoyed writing 20 page critical analyses of film and television, and felt especially passionate about her Honors Thesis, The Matrices of Dominance: exploring race, class, gender, and sexuality oppression in The Matrix.

In Fall 2010, Victoria returned to her alma mater, but this time for a master’s degree. Here, she received numerous awards including the First Film Faculty Award for Outstanding Achievement in Screenwriting and the Jeffrey Jones Writing Scholarship, both for her short A Different Tree. The completed film has gone on to win various awards, most notably the HBO Best Short at ABFF and is airing on HBO and HBOGO until April 2015. In addition, Victoria was nominated by directing faculty to participate in a class taught by James Franco. Her short, Mandroid, starring Josh Peck and Dale Raoul, will be combined with seven other shorts into an anthology feature, The Labyrinth, which is scheduled for completion in 2015. Independently, Victoria has written/directed/produced over 10 of her own shorts and co-wrote a produced feature film, Sea Horse, which is on the festival circuit.

Victoria is currently writing TV movies for Larry Levinson Productions and working on the web series CLASS. She continues to share unseen worlds, underrepresented characters, and untold stories through film and television.
