Director Statement

As a performing artist I believe collaborating with different mediums of art progresses the evolution of the arts. “Making It Work” is an excerpt from production “Short Stories” that I choreographed in Graz, Austria. The production is based on my personal life with my beau, making our relationship work while being a foreigner in another country and trying to cope with my new surroundings. While choreographing “Short Stories” I visualized the choreography as a movie. I already knew that I wanted to collaborate with a cinematographer that had the ability to convey my visions. I believe dance can connect people in a unique, personal way that may not be able to be conveyed in to words. I’m passionate to continue to work with different art forms to grow as an artist and move others.
