Director Biography - Cydney Cox

Cydney is a Texas raised filmmaker originally from San Antonio. She developed affection for filmmaking in high school while attending the North East School of the Arts – a fine arts magnet program. Here, she learned the basics of production and created multiple works, including a documentary, an animation, a PSA, and short narrative films.
Later, her body of work expanded as an undergraduate at Southern Methodist University where she studied Film and Psychology. Cydney has worked on two feature films (as an Assistant Camera on All the Wrong Friends and later as the co-writer and co-producer of Legacy), many short films (“Flip the Switch”), experimental works (on video and 16mm film, “The Stages”), and music videos (“6001 Bishop Boulevard”).
Her filmography has grown and become more diverse in subject matter as her narrative topics reveal themselves in conjunction with personal experiences.
