La Fuerza Interna
A specific focus on the organizing efforts of the independent farmworker union Familias Unidas por la Justicia, this film visits their struggle to earn a union contract with their employer, Sakuma Farms. Their struggle reintroduces immigrant rights and labor organizing back into the movement for a just food system.

Along with fellow directors and producers Becca Clark-Hargreaves and Danielle Calubaquib, we are all people committed to social justice and telling stories that matter. We all attend(ed) Seattle University and came together for a brief moment to capture a snapshot of the historic organizing efforts of Familias Unidas. Danielle and Becca have now graduated with degrees in Journalism, Sociology and English, and are pursuing careers in their respective fields. As José finished up his undergraduate degrees, he continues to be involved with Familias Unidas, immigrant advocacy work, and film as a medium.
