Evert is a 75-year old man and since the death of his wife always alone. Despite that, he gets a little happiness out of the greeting he gets from Sam. Sam is a 12-year old student who cycles past Evert's house every morning on his way to school. Expect for the daily greet, they do not know each other.

Every morning at 8:15, Evert places a chair at his front door and waits for Sam as he reads the newspaper to make it look as if he is always sitting there. Little does Sam know, Evert does this especially for him.
