We Don't Haze

This seventeen-minute documentary film project is a commissioned work, produced with the Clery Center for Security on Campus in Wayne, PA. Stories from Greek Life, athletics, band, and other university communities are told. The mission of the film is to educate and effectively change the culture around hazing to prevent deaths and mental and physical injuries on college and university campuses.

Director Biography - Jack Lucido

Jack Lucido is a professor at Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, CO, where he teaches production and studies courses.

He earned his M.F.A from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and his B.A. at Humboldt State University.

He recently completed We Don’t Haze, a documentary that strongly advocates against hazing in college settings. The piece won an Award of Excellence in the Festival of Media Arts from the Broadcast Education Association in 2016.

Lucido’s documentary Across the Fence focuses on sustainable ranching practices; it screened at the Durango, Breckenridge, Southern Colorado (Alamosa), and Crested Butte Film Festivals. It won an Honorable Mention Award at the International Film Awards Berlin.

Jackson Sandwich, his documentary about autism spectrum disorders, was awarded the prestigious Cine Golden Eagle Award.

It's been an extremely high honor to be a part of this project. If we save just one life, just one horrible maiming, or just one tragic emotional humiliation (mental trauma) of a young adult attending a college or university then our hard work on this project will have been worth it.
