Director Biography - Camila García

I’m writer and animator, I studied german philology at the National University from Colombia and did a course of experimental animation in Universidad Javeriana, my animations have been shown in festivals like Animasivo and Locomoción Fest. I wrote two books of short stories Perros en el cielo (Dogs in heaven) and El jinete extraviado ( The lost rider). You can see my work in www.camilagarcia.net

Soy escritora y animadora, estudié filología e Idiomas en la Universidad Nacional de Colombia e hice un diplomado en Animación Experimental en la Universidad Javeriana, mis animaciones han sido exhibidas en festivales como Animasivo y Locomoción Fest. Director Statement

Every beautiful thing suggests movement.
In my visual work I usually give movement to rigid or inanimate things or simulate the movement of slow processes such as the veins of a leaf or the execution of an embroidery. Frame by frame animation allows me to prove this axiom and is the praxis of one of my most intimate convictions: time is not money, time is your life.

Todas las cosas bellas sugieren movimiento.
En mi trabajo visual generalmente le doy movimiento a cosas rígidas o inanimadas o simulo el movimiento de procesos lentos como por ejemplo las nervaduras de una hoja o la ejecución de un bordado. La animación cuadro a cuadro me permite demostrar este axioma y constituye la praxis de una de mis más íntimas convicciones: time is not money, time is your life.
