Alberto Giacometti, A new Image of Man
A journey into the works and life of a great artist, Alberto Giacometti, who revolutionized twentieth-century sculpture. It is Giacometti himself who guides us with his gravelly voice in true Italian flair.
This experiment in reduction will determine his research for a lifetime. He will flirt with the various currents of the time, cubism, negro art, abstraction and surrealism, to better understand his own vision. He embraces his full potential in 1946, by exclaiming, “Yes, the unseen, the totally unknown – wonderful”
This film gives the viewer access to the adventurous spirit of the sculptor, contributing to a better approach in understanding his work, and insight to the man himself.
