The Necklace_fullversion
Deep in the remote area of Northern Nepal, nested between the Tibetan/Nepalese boarder, the Upper Mustang-Tibetan Plateau, a tiny Himalayan village- Jharkot, lives a young couple, Doma- a quiet and strong farm girl and her flamboyant fiancé Karluman, the only son of a local farmer.
Modernization is gradually encroaching on this once isolated traditional Nepali-Tibetan farming village, as he increasingly becomes restless, feeling trapped of being a small time farmer and contemplating of a different life in the big city. He begs Doma for her inherited precious necklace; if he can sell it for a good price, then they can start a new life.
Doma is forced to make a choice against her better judgement.
In the city, he befriends Manish, a slick young man who may just have a right buyer in mind for the precious necklace.
What will happen to Karluman and his big schemes?

Our thoughts and actions can have repercussions, some of them can lead to irreversible consequences.
Undergone some rapid changes in the last decade such as political conflicts, cultural and value shifts between different generations, and among the cities and remote rural areas.
While some are more content with their simple farm lives, others are hoping for a bigger slice of pie and dreaming for either the excitement of a fast life in the city or moving abroad for a fresh start.
Through the different characters to reflect their anxieties, hopes and struggles and get to understand their conflicting values are being challenged and faced with the dilemma of difficult choices.
The necklace and Doma on a spiritual journey, essentially symbolized the nature of revolving cyle of life: love, lost, the proccess of letting go, and reborn anew.
