The New York love affair of California native, to David Moriya, story is essential. Having little to no budget on each of his films, creativity flourishes to find solutions to every situation. By starting with the vision of the edit, David writes the story to direct and shoot the image the way the story needs to be told, but working in collaboration and considering other ideas is all about the process of creativity as a team. As a street photographer, David creates moments of reality into a still frame, but juxtaposing millions of frames is how David expresses himself through story.
From a simple idea came a story to tell. In our early production relationship, Hugo Fowler came to me with an idea and story of a current social issue. I wrote the script, we planned out the shots, and took an afternoon to shoot all of it. This became our first and favorite piece.
