7vens Law

Set within the incomplete gentrification neighborhood of Chicago's Bronzeville, Seven Gaines, a law-abiding family man, and his son Omar head home after a night of father-son laughter and football. To complete the evening, Seven must meet his college love and wife, Natalie, for dinner. An aggravated, oppressive police officer stops seven. Immediately he provides "the talk" to his son and obeys all rules applied when driving while black. The encounter escalates to a confrontation outside the car, leaving Omar alone; he attempts to resolve the child's youthful reasoning. Omar's attempt to de-escalate ends in his brutal and horrific murder.
Seven is left to endure lawlessness as a violent crime victim, who bears numerous mental states while torn between spiritual death and personal rebirth. To accept Omar's loss and gain Natalie's forgiveness, respect, and love, Seven rejects victimization. Saving his marriage will send him deeper into love's obsession and possession with help from an unlikely yet willing participant. Seven continues to implement and empower a cooperative group to deploy 7vens's Law.
