7 Minute Storytelling II: Captain Unicorn Saves the Day

Solo writing is never easy. Adam, a fledgling screenwriter, knows this all too well. His solution, employing the bright young minds of his niece and nephew. It worked once before, when niece Jade, then 7-years-old helped him create the first “7 minute Storytelling with a 7-Year-Old” an opening night official selection at the 2016 Arivaca Film Festival.
Adam’s nephew Cash, now 7-years-old himself, takes the reigns for the sequel. His tale centers around a loveable tiny white dog with nearly immeasurable power. By day her name is Mimosa (an homage to my mother’s Maltipoo.) Also by day, when trouble threatens, she dons wings and a unicorn-horn, becoming ‘Captain Unicorn.’ Her endless battle to thwart the baby-animal kidnapping fiends, the Wolf and Sea Monster, has her longing for a simpler life. If she could stop them once and for all, she can finally work at the animal daycare center she’s always dreamed of.
Unfortunately for her, the Wolf and Sea Monster sneak in and steal all of the babies. Now Captain Unicorn must face her toughest battle yet. Retrieving ‘invisibility’ from the ‘Power Store,’ she attempts to sneak into the Wolf and Sea Monster’s secret lair. When that doesn’t work, she knows she must try something new. Captain Unicorn decides to try words instead of fists, and after she finds a way to help her former enemies, they become friends. "Conversation" becomes her most effective superpower and she, once again, saves the day.
