Through The Gaze
Through the Gaze is an experimental short film conceptually inspired by the poem ‘Tobacco’, written and recited by Saugeen Ojibwe elder and artist Duke Redbird. In the poem, Redbird explores the significance of tobacco as a sacred herb in Ojibwe culture, and a pathway to understanding his personal history and broader historical injustice.
