Director Biography - Reed Means

Reed has a vast range of experience, starting at an early age as a child actor in Los Angeles, CA. He has acting credits in both film and television, yet his interest was always behind the scenes. Now, living in Arkansas, Reed is primarily a cinematographer and editor. Besides making movies, he films events of any nature. Reed is also a copyrighted musician and composer, and plays a large assortment of instruments.

Always experimental in nature, his independently funded projects are consistently unique and confounding. He was the filmmaker for the art installation, "A Dream Retrieval Ritual," as well as continuing production on a series of short films titled "Genkaku Taiken. The Translinguistic Works For Moving Images"

Director Statement

Approaching a project like this, I knew that I had to break the rules of conventional filmmaking. Basing the entirety of the film around a highly complex music composition was new to me; especially since the music was being created alongside the film. After several months of shooting in five blocks, we had all of the materials to begin the edit. The film was finished three days before the scheduled premiere, and was received wonderfully from the art community.
