Widow's Peek: The Kiss of Death
"Widow’s Peek: The Kiss of Death" is a collaborative experimental video by Amy Bassin and Mark Blickley. The video speaks for the many people (especially women) who live their lives centered upon dreamy cinematic portrayals of romance. These films foster an ideal nearly impossible to find and cultivate. The shrieking “widow” in the video captures the moment of loss when she realizes the hope of finding such a love is as dead as the actors filmed in passionate embraces.

Amy Bassin is a video artist/photographer from New York City and a graduate of the School of Visual Arts.
Mark Blickley is a widely published writer and playwright. His most recent book is "Sacred Misfits" published by Red Hen Press. He is a proud member of the Dramatist Guild and PEN American Center and graduate of Brooklyn College.
Amy Bassin and Mark Blickley’s video and art collaborations began after they read Man Ray’s memoir, "Self-Portrait," and were enthralled by the Dadaist’s avant-garde film experiments and art that combined photography with poetic texts. All of their collaborations have a dada and surrealist edginess.
