Lisa Diaz started cinema after litterature and History studies at la Sorbonne. She began as a script girl before she directed her first short film in 2006, the Absentee (first price of the Eure / Moulin d’Andé Script Award). Then she has directed two documentaries (100 kms apart and To be continued), and other short fictions: Home Trip, coproduced by national channel, France 2, with Sabrina Ouazani and the ear of a pianist, with Adélaïde Leroux. Our dumb lips, her last fiction, has received the support of the CNC production fund and the new technologies fund. Her films have been screened and awarded in both national and international film festivals. She has participated in various training programme and writing residences at la FEMIS, Groupe Ouest (annual selection in 2007) or in Lussas. She is now developing her first feature, summer 81.
this film is the adaptation of a short belgium novel (I won an award of best adaptation in Travelling film festival). I wanted to film, through images and sounds, the relationship between a dead unloving mother and his son. My idea was that the film should become more poetic and less narrative as the story goes on. The film is between different "genres" - a mix of horror, experimental and psychological movie.
