Director Biography - DEAN PHILIPS

Having trained in writing/directing at RAINDANCE in London, I've been at the helm of numerous projects , which include working both here and abroad. I'd consider myself an actors director. Highly focused on characterisation and script, which are for me two of the key essential elements of film making.

Director Statement

An experienced, progressive and high concept Filmmaker and Scriptwriter, I've a proven track record collaborating with numerous actor/actresses and Production Teams. Having directed films internationally as well as in the UK and having tackled a broad range of genres, I have been gifted with the added skill of versatility as a Writer/Director.

My skill set and knowledge I've acquired in terms of filmaking has been through general life experience and the dedicated passion that I have for the art. Having been a professional actor for fifteen years, now benefits me monumentally in terms of my approach to working with actors and how best to engage them, drawing out the kind of performances I need to help bring the projects I work on to life.

My aim, is to create art that's thought provoking, challenges people's way of thinking and hopefully will inspire. Humbly; if anything at all is taken away with you, from watching something that I've created. Then as an artist, I get the privilege of taking away with me, a complete sense of fulfilment.
