"Dead Head" is a story with a lot of heart… that you get to see splattered all over the scene. The experience is a collision between the story, practical-effects, zombies, and the brand new medium of Virtual Reality. "Dead Head" is uniquely suited for VR. The perspective of the viewer is crucial to the plot; as the story progresses you gradually become physically involved in the gory tale.
One of the the biggest challenges poised by shooting with a 360-degree camera rig is that the camera sees everything. There’s no way to hide or monitor the scene in real time. This making directing live-action VR very difficult. For "Dead Head", I addressed this problem by acting in the scene myself along with our Director of Photography and editor.
With that being said—
Enjoy "Dead Head".
