Director Statement

"Depressione" was a passion project for me. Being my first film, I wanted to make something difficult. I wanted to tell a story but at the same time, I wanted to send a message. I struggle with my own battles of depression and alcoholism and I know what kind of road that can lead down. While I know that many can pull themselves out of it, others cannot. It feels like a constant uphill battle and the people that have these issues need to know they are not alone in their thoughts. They need to understand the aftermath of their actions. That is what I hope that this film does. I hope that people who watch it, have an emotional connection to the characters and that they will see themselves in the shoes that are incredibly difficult to walk in.
